Kroll Ontrack® Appoints Martin Baldock as Director of Operations for Legal Technologies in the UK

-- Key Appointment Reflects Increasing Customer Demand for Assistance with Complex Electronic Evidence Matters --

London, 24 October 2006 – Kroll Ontrack®, the leading provider of electronic and paper disclosure, computer forensics, and courtroom services announces today that it has appointed Martin Baldock as Director of Operations for Legal Technologies in the UK, based in its London facility.

Baldock will focus on improving the efficiencies and quality of the service operations that support the delivery of electronic and paper disclosure, computer forensic investigations and courtroom technology to the region’s law firms and top companies. As the volume and complexity of cases has grown in the last year, Kroll Ontrack believes this appointment will be key to maintaining and expanding its market position as the only full-service evidence consultancy and legal technology provider in the UK.
Baldock, who has over 25 years experience in IT and forensic technology, joined Kroll Ontrack from RGL LLP where he was Director of Forensic Technology and advised legal and accounting teams on digital evidence, forensics and litigation support. Prior to this role, Martin spent four years as Global Head of Forensic Technology at KPMG with responsibility for forensic IT strategy. In this role, Baldock introduced new technologies and implemented new evidence handling procedures throughout KPMG Europe and acted for three years as International Chairman for Forensic Technology services within KPMG International.

Martin Carey, Managing Director of Kroll Ontrack UK, says of the appointment: “We are delighted to have Martin Baldock on board as we look to further enhance the quality of service and leading edge technology that our customers have come to expect. Martin’s exemplary experience in the field of computer forensics, electronic disclosure and data analysis for both internal investigation and litigation purposes will be extremely valuable as we take our business, already the leader in the growing field of legal technologies, to the next stage in its development.”

In his new role as Director of Legal Technology Operations, Baldock will develop and implement Kroll Ontrack’s strategy to integrate its legal technology operations, providing a more seamless, integrated service offering for clients. The first action for Baldock is the integration of Kroll Ontrack’s computer forensics service operations which are currently located in Epsom, Bicester and London into the London office. This move will result in a highly secure and technically-deep forensics workshop immediately adjacent to high-volume document management service operations and is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2006. Once complete, clients will have access to the only full-service forensic and disclosure facility under one roof in London.

About his appointment, Baldock says: “This is an exciting challenge for me to help Kroll Ontrack’s clients mitigate their risk when dealing with digital evidence, whatever the source of that evidence may be. We aim to help our clients manage their evidence successfully using what ever tools, formats or outputs are required.”
