VMworld Conference in Barcelona… excellent experience!

Kroll Ontrack booth at VMworld 2102I have just come back from the VMWorld conference in Barcelona and am thrilled to have been part of such a great experience. The conference had over 250 companies from all over the world and the Kroll Ontrack team met many of them – it was exciting to have all my colleagues speaking to visitors in their native tongues!

It was very interesting to find out from talking to attendees that there appears to be wider adoption of new storage technologies such as VAAI and thin provisioning than in past years. Many of these make data recovery more challenging. To us, this means we need to continue pushing the boundaries and coming up with new technologies to help our clients overcome data loss in any type of storage.

We spoke to almost 600 people from different countries and had their input into the tendencies on virtualising their data storage. We will publish our findings shortly, so keep checking our blog for news on that.

We also did a raffle of three Nexus 7 tablets. The lucky winners are Michael Schmidt from Salutec GmbH, Clive Simms from Control Circle and Raffaello Poltonieri from Datacenter Expertise. Congratulations!

To give people who didn’t get a chance to see a live demo of our Ontrack Power Controls, we have set up a series of webinars for you to explore how Ontrack PowerControls can help you recover data from your systems more quickly and efficiently. The first webinar will take place on 25th October at 3:30pm (BST). Don’t miss out on this opportunity!

During VMWorld our virtualisation expert was so busy answering questions about data recovery that we decided to set up a live Q&A session this 24th October from 2-3pm (BST) to give more people the opportunity to ask our specialist @DrDataRecovery by using #odrqa. We hope you take part of our first ever live Twitter Q&A!
