Small businesses ‘must shore up emergency plans’

Smaller businesses must be prepared to face the consequences of emergency situations, such as data loss or security breaches, and this means taking the time to put together and testing disaster recovery scenarios.

David Zimmerman, president of LC Technology International, told IT Business Edge that smaller companies in particular may find it difficult to recover from times of crisis due to a lack of resources at their disposal to react situations swiftly.

As a result, they should be investing in advance in measures like streamlined data recovery services and staff training to ensure that when the time comes that action is required, everyone within an organisation knows exactly what to do to get the business back on its feet.

“You have to expect bad things to happen, prepare for the worst. Having a disaster recovery plan in place is mandatory for successfully restoring backups and recovering lost data,” Mr Zimmerman argued.

When looking for data recovery services, look for one with a track record of success. Ontrack Data Recovery services has 40,000 data recovery stories to tell every year.
