Businesses keen to boost the collaborative efforts of their staff have been encouraged to utilise video facilities available through Microsoft’s SharePoint data management platform.
Martin Nurser, an expert in channel and strategic alliance development and management, told Tech Radar how video files are traditionally seen as a “heavy” form of content, requiring large bandwidth to transfer and a great deal of storage space.
However, through the use of SharePoint, businesses could easily make use of live streaming, sharing and conference calling without the need for major investment in upgraded networks or other IT infrastructure.
“An enhanced SharePoint platform manages the load on the network, ensuring business critical systems are protected whilst freeing the organisation to take advantage of the benefits offered by video content,” Mr Nurser argued.
These advantages include improved employee engagement through the use of face-to-face meetings even when staff are outside the office, as well as making it easier for a business as a whole to more clearly communicate its corporate vision.
