Firms ‘must do more to prevent breaches’

Companies across the UK are increasingly being targeted by attackers when it comes to the management of their essential IT infrastructure and therefore breaches are also becoming increasingly commonplace.

However, chief security officer at Fujitsu UK and Ireland David Robinson wrote in an interview for Information Age that a spate of high-profile breaches has recently been reported, with big name companies from Target to eBay being affected.

It is therefore essential a stronger focus is placed on the safeguarding of confidential consumer and business files, as failure to do so can not only lead to costs surrounding data recovery, but also significant fines that can leave a business unable to continue trading.

“Many businesses take security for granted, not realising until it’s too late that they have been hacked. It’s not about if you get breached, it’s when nowadays,” Mr Robinson argued.

This means addressing the issue of data security is something all businesses need to achieve if they plan to go from strength to strength now the economic recovery is finally taking hold.

It is wise to choose a data recovery company who has a track record in recovering from the type of data loss you have experienced.
