Businesses wishing to safeguard their valuable data must now take into account a growing number of issues that impact the way they operate in the digital age.
Gartner vice-president and fellow Tom Scholtz stated the growing trend for out-of-office access to files and mobile, social and consumer-driven work practices means the provision of adequate safeguards for data protection is becoming increasingly complicated.
“In a fully consumerised workplace, the information layer becomes the primary infrastructure focal point for security control,” he argued. “This reality necessitates a shift toward a more information-focused security strategy.”
Businesses that fail to address this issue over the coming years could run the risk of requiring data recovery services on a more frequent basis.
Indeed, research published by Gartner showed that at present, just 25 per cent of organisations have an explicit data security strategy in place that takes into account the shifting needs of staff in the digital age.
It is wise to choose a data recovery company who has a track record in recovering from the type of data loss you have experienced.
