SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES
Hon. Shira A. Scheindlin
United States District Court Judge, Southern District of New York
Judge Shira A. Scheindlin was appointed to the United States District Court for the Southern
State of New York in 1994. During 2003 and 2004, she issued five landmark electronic
discovery opinions in Zubulake v. UBS Warburg. Since 1999, she has been a member of
the Federal Rules Advisory Committee.
Professor Richard Susskind OBE
IT Advisor to the Lord Chief Justice
Professor Richard Susskind OBE has specialised in legal technology for over 20 years. He is
an independent advisor to major professional firms and to national governments. He is an IT
Advisor to the Lord Chief Justice, has written several books on law and IT, and is a law
columnist for The Times.
Mark Humphires
Partner, Linklaters
Mark Humphries is Head of Advocacy at Linklaters. He is a commercial litigator and trial
advocate who handles a wide range of commerical disputes with a particular emphasis on
industrial, employment, insurance and professional negligence cases. Since 2001, he has
lectured and written on the effects of electronic communication technology on the conduct of
litigation and is one of the authors of the highly regarded Commercial Litigators' Forum
paper on electronic disclosure.
Neil Mirchandani
Partner, Lovells
Neil Mirchandani is a litigation partner at Lovells where he handles a broad range of City-
related disputes such as M&A disputes, financial market problems, and corporate and
regulatory investigations and disciplinary proceedings. He is also responsible for
promoting the use of technology in litigation, and is one of the authors of the highly
regarded Commercial Litigators' Forum paper on electronic disclosure.
Tom Hopkinson Solicitor N/P
Legal Consultant, Kroll Ontrack
Tom Hopkinson qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and practiced civil litigation for six years.
He then joined Kroll Inc. as a director in the Northern European Practice conducting
business intelligence investigations before becoming a Legal Consultant with Kroll Ontrack.
He regularly appears in the U.K. media as an expert and commentator on electronic evidence
issues.
