Tracey Stretton
Legal Consultant, Legal Technologies
Tracey Stretton is a Legal Consultant at Kroll Ontrack in the UK. Her role is to advise lawyers and their clients on the management of evidence and the use of technology in litigation and investigations. Ms Stretton is an expert in the management of electronic information and legal technology. Her participation in organisations and events designed to showcase legal technology and promote its broader use equip her to comment on trends and developments in the use of technology in the legal world. Her experience in legal technologies has evolved from exposure as a lawyer and consultant in a large number of cases in a variety of international jurisdictions.
Ms Stretton practiced as a solicitor in South Africa and Australia working primarily on complex commercial litigation cases in construction, banking, fraud and insolvency. She also spent four years with Lovells, a major international law firm as a litigation support lawyer advising lawyers in the firm’s UK, US, European and Asian offices on the appropriate use of technology in the dispute resolution process
Ms Stretton speaks regularly at conferences and has written numerous articles on the impact of technology on law and business and is a contributing author to the Sweet & Maxwell Encyclopedia of IT Law on the topic of “The Management of Technology Related Risks.”
Robert Jones
Legal Consultant, Legal Technologies
Robert Jones is a Legal Consultant at Kroll Ontrack in the UK. His role is to advise lawyers and their clients on the management of evidence and the use of technology in litigation, investigations and other matters. He provides consultancy that assists clients in the interrogation and management of document intensive cases. This often includes advising on implications of the services associated with disclosure exercises, and scoping multi-regional projects. Robert advises clients on strategies and techniques to help lawyers deploy technology effectively and responsibly and fulfil their goals. Mr Jones’ clients include law firms, corporate counsel and government agencies. He is called upon for his significant depth, variety and volume of experience and is often consulted on the practicalities surrounding the management, processing and review of electronic evidence.
Prior to joining Kroll Ontrack, Mr Jones worked for over five years within a Top 100 international law firm managing disclosure projects for large scale litigation cases. His work involved managing teams of legal professionals and delivering effective solutions to maximize the efficiency of one of the firm’s busiest litigation teams.
Andrew Szczech
Manager, ED Consultancy, Legal Technologies
Andrew is the Manager of Kroll Ontrack’s ED Consultancy team in London. His role is to advise on strategies and techniques to help lawyers deploy technology effectively and proportionately with active disclosure engagements.
Mr Szczech frequently provides advice and consultancy on the use of technology within electronic legal processes, including the practicalities surrounding them, implications of the services associated with such methods, and scoping multi-regional, document intensive projects.
Prior to joining Kroll Ontrack, Mr Szczech spent three years within business process, content and electronic document management focused roles. He has worked in IT for over 20 years, both in-house and for solution providers. His main focus is to ensure clients are able to maximise the use of technology within their organisations.
Tony Dearsley
Computer Forensics Manager, Legal Technologies
Tony Dearlsey heads up the Computer Forensics team at Kroll Ontrack in London. Tony specialises in both sophisticated and complex computer investigations. He has extensive experience in a wide variety of investigations, particularly email and Internet abuse, data theft and forgeries. Tony is trained and certified in data recovery and forensic computer examination techniques by various organisations and has been an expert in the forensic examination of computers and the production of their evidence in court since 1993.
Tony has presented evidence as both specialist and expert witness on many occasions. This involved working on major projects involving classification and examination of terabytes of data for disclosure and corporate governance matters.
He has previously spent over 24 years in HM Customs & Excise, the last 15 years of which he investigated serious crime. He is also a member of the Training Sub-Committee of the Joint Agency Forensic Computing Group (SFO, HM Customs & Excise and the Inland Revenue).
Tony was Instrumental in designing, writing and lecturing on the Forensic Computing Foundation course run at Cranfield University (Royal Military College of Science).
Laurance Dine
Senior Computer Forensics Investigator, Legal Technologies
Laurance Dine is a Senior Computer Forensics Consultant at Kroll Ontrack in London. Laurance has completed over 250 investigations ranging from high profile criminal prosecutions, to the complete range of disciplinary and civil litigation cases. He has extensive experience of multi-jurisdictional investigations and cross-platform, large-scale cases involving massive quantities of data.
Laurance has been a team leader for an on-site disclosure and deletion exercise involving over 4 terabytes of data and has attended over 50 on-site data captures using search warrants or owner authority. He is a former member of the United States Air Force Security Forces, most recently acting as an investigator involved in the examination of computer misuse and security breaches.
