Big data 'can transform businesses'

Businesses cannot escape from big data in the current climate, so they need to take steps to make it more valuable to their organisation.

Without proper data management, businesses will fail to generate the insights they need from the information, so it will just prove a costly burden.

Furthermore, if documents are not efficiently stored or managed, companies could find themselves struggling to meet e-disclosure deadlines, which could lead to a sanction or fine.

Wynn White, vice president of marketing at Birst, said business analytics are vital to create an agile organisation.

"Big data has the potential to transform the relationship that businesses can have with customers and an agile business analytics platform can give teams within these organisations the ability to perform sophisticated analytics and find opportunities for driving business growth," he explained.
