Fears over the security of the cloud are what prohibit many individuals from changing their data storage to online data management. However, Google Enterprise Director of Security, Eran Feigenbaum, has alleviated those doubts by asserting that moving to the cloud is probably safer than any system a company would already be using. "I believe that cloud computing, compared to most organisations [and] what they're doing today, is probably more secure," he has said. Speaking at the Australian Information Security Association's National Conference 2012 in Sydney today, Mr Feigenbaum asserted that there are some cases where cloud providers are not as reliable, but in general, online data management is far more secure. Mr Feigenbaum's claims are an encouragement to businesses thinking of transferring to the cloud. He highlights the importance of installing a data management system that you can trust. From Mr Feigenbaum's statements, staying away from the cloud in fact provides more security threats. Data is at the core of most modern businesses.
