Michael Fey, author of Security Battleground: An Executive Field Manual about cyber space, has warned businesses of any size that all staff must be trained on the importance of cyber security. When a company uses online data management, a huge amount of highly confidential and sensitive data is stored on the cloud. If this information is lost or stolen, a company can face a loss economically and of their time. Data breaches are also taken very seriously by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), and businesses could be met with a colossal fine. If an individual in a business is not aware of cyber threats, they may not be handling the data as securely as they should. Because of this, Mr Fey instructs all business managers to train every member of staff on cyber security. Mr Fey calls training workers in this way simply "giving them the tools to succeed". Information is critical to the successful running of most businesses. When it comes to the secure deletion of end-of-life data, Kroll Ontrack has CESG accredited software and hardware you can rely on. Posted by Lucy Hill
